Club Committee meeting - August 2007
MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 02/08/ 2007.

ITEM ACTION
1) Apologies: Dave Doust, Mike McCarthy
2) Minutes of last meeting:
It was agreed the minutes were a true resume of the meeting.
3) Matters arising:
a) New blog section to be added to the website to improve club communication and show how much activity is currently happening within the club. MM
b) New running vests to be ordered by TF, RG to provide membership list and breakdown of sizes RG / TF
c) TF to approach Primera about stocking kit for us and doing an evening where we can all come over and choose the kit, use JJ’s printing source for club logo’s JJ/TF
d) Members encouraged to send in photos and any items of interest to website, race reports etc.
4) Membership:
Is going well with 66 paid up members, it is anticipated we may gather a few more members before the season ends.
A new membership poster to be produced to put up in the Littledown Centre, Stokewood and Esporta etc. Ash B
5) Accounts:
We have over £3157 in the bank account. We have just issued a cheque for the Southwater relays some £550; this will be recouped from members.
The swim sessions have lost £97 in July the first time we have lost money on the sessions since last November. Participation levels have been affected by the race season, it’s anticipated that numbers will pick up in September. JP
6) Social Events
a) Quiz night Sunday 5th August, keep up regular monthly nights out at the quiz. Venue; Night Jar, Canford cliffs. JP/JJ
b) Club end of season BBQ Branksome Dene? RG/JP
c) Evening meal after Southwater relays, put out to members both racing and not racing RG
d) Landmark comedy night? JJ
e) Ideas about the Christmas party from the membership RG
9) New Members Welcome Pack:
A new members pack has been developed, it was decided that this should be sent out to new members with a covering letter, including an FAQ and their new membership cards. RG/JP
10) Coaching & Training Reviews:
Running training sessions going well although attendance is mixed. Feedback on training has been asked for but nothing forthcoming.
Sunday ‘Ironman’ or longer cycle sessions to be included as part of our organised sessions, use blog to keep people in touch. Training feedback questionnaire to be developed. JH /RG
11) Dorset &
We will be selecting races from the two leagues to focus clubs winter racing activity. We can put 2 men’s and 2 ladies teams in AD and others to encourage members to participate and race for the club. Investigation into possible Cross Country races to be undertaken by AD
12) Any other business:
a) Lots of discussions on club kit. We agreed the layout of the running vests and it was decided that JO would open up early discussions with Sugoi on next years tri suits. RG would get a small number of polo shirts printed up with Zoom logo embroidered on breast. More to be ordered if required. RG/TF
b) Date of next meeting: To be agreed most likely End September
